Breaking Bread

Day by day we're blessed by time with our precious family and friends!

Sunday, the 18th - We enjoyed pizza with Steve & Lynn and their kids - plus we were treated to a melody by Tori :)

Monday, the 19th - Supper at Pete's with Curt & Jan (I promised not to post their picture :). We ate outside!!

Tuesday, the 20th - Deven cleaned my car and joined us for supper at Byron's own Family Restaurant.

Wednesday, the 21st - Busy day! Joy Club, two appointments, and a meeting....whew! We were treated to supper by our friend Tom who headed south on Sunday.

Thursday, the 22nd - We had a great party at church for all the Kids' Hope kids and their mentors. Jayreece LOVES Mr. Bill!

Jayreece and his sweet Mom

Friday, the 23rd - Beckie took me out for lunch and Dick & Jacque took us out for dinner, a late celebration this year because we were sailing the seas on his special day.

Saturday, the 24th - Absolutely LOVED South Christian's musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Niece Laiya was terrific in her role as one of the Israelites.

Laiya and Marva

Sunday, the 25th - Lunch with Tom & Ila (Happy Birthday, Ila!), songfest in the afternoon, and evening coffee at Steve & Lynn's.

Monday, the 26th - After 3 or 4 date changes, we finally had supper with Carl & Lin. It was great to catch up with them!

Tuesday, the 27th - We enjoyed supper in Holland with John & Jo. Clue to our usual conversations - the family we share :)

After supper, we took Abby, Sophie, and Noah to Holland Beach while Tom & Anna attended a meeting at church.

Sophie was SO proud that she can now 'armpit fart' :)

Wednesday, the 28th - I had to cook.... But we did enjoy coffee with Randy!

Today, the 29th - leftovers for me, supper meeting for Bill :)

Can you tell that we enjoy 'breaking bread' with family and friends?

The tree by our deck is in full bloom - it reminds me of a verse from Genesis.

"As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night will never cease."
(Genesis 8:22).

Whirlwind of Fun!!

We've been away from home for much of the last month! It began with several days in Florida at my Mom & Rich's home (with John & Denise), a great afternoon with Gerrit and Ali, a couple of relaxing and fun days with Gary and Shirley in Ft. Myers, and a cruise with 14 others that we first planned for Spring Break of 1988! We finally did it and it was wonderful beyond words! How blessed we are to have cherished life-long friends! (An added bonus was having John & Denise on the same cruise - a marvelous coincidence :)

First, some pics taken in Bradenton....

Pics of the cruise....

We had another wonderful week with Laura & Ben and our precious granddaughters in Pasadena. We included a trip down to spend a couple of days with Luke and Diane and their girls in Bonsall. They are great hosts!

We spent a great day at Disneyland...

Amelia is one of the most expressive little girls ever! Here are a few fun pics of her mugging it up with Grandpa :)

Back in Michigan....Anna and her friend Kate ran in a 5K in Holland on Thursday afternoon and I got to spend some time with the kids!

The kids joined in the last few yards of the race

On Saturday Tom & Anna invited us out to Holland for the St. Patrick's Day parade, lunch, and a stroll to the park and library.

Green everywhere :)

Lunch on a great afternoon!

Like the new design? It was either update this site or shut it down....you can tell what I chose for the time being...

Be blessed!

Time for an Update!

Wow - it's been a while! My excuse? A two-week vacation that included a week in Florida and a once-in-a-lifetime, 8 night cruise with great friends (16 of us, planned for spring break of '88 - pics coming soon!) For now, it's back to Valentine's Day when the guys in our small group treated us women to a wonderful evening, complete with flowers, candy, love letters, and a fabulous meal! The guys secretly planned for weeks, shopped, prepared the food, served and spoiled us completely. It was great!

The guys busy cleaning up

Laura sent this pic of precious Amelia :)

I spent the weekend with my sisters in Holland at our fourth Girlfriends' Weekend. What a ball!

Lots more pics - a few will surprise you :)

Cruise pics soon.....
Until then,
be blessed.
