Fellowship, Family, and Friends

We had a great event at church last Sunday - the first of three summer celebrations. The weather was perfect, the crowd large, and the activities abundant. We enjoyed a delicious meal and lots of fun together with many friends from our community.

I was able to spend some alone time with Noah on Monday morning while the girls were at science camp. We played at a park and explored hidden staircases and pathways in downtown Holland before picking up the girls and going for lunch.

One of the cutest pictures I've ever taken was of Bill and the daughter of a colleague at South Christian. Abby was just a baby and she was cheek to cheek with Bill. We saw Abby and her mom in Holland on Thursday night and I got another picture of the two of them. Wish I could find the one from 15 years ago....

She sure is pretty (and one of Bill's students this year :)

Laura sent this picture of Amelia - AJ took some of Laura's underwear from the laundry (clean and waiting to be folded :) and decided to model it....what a fun and silly girl she is!

Beckie broke her finger while playing softball. This picture was taken on Friday while she was waiting for surgery to insert a pin to hold the broken bone together. Bummer.......

Tonight we enjoyed dinner and conversation with our long-time friends, Ali and Gerrit. It was great to hear about their winter in Florida, their family, and their recent visit with family in Canada.

This picture was taken in Chicago last December....
May you always find your way
to fun times with family and friends.

Formalities, Festivities, and Fun

Deven graduated from Byron Center Christian School on Monday evening and he's off to high school in the fall. The years fly by so quickly! The ceremony was meaningful and we're VERY proud of him!

Proud grandparents!

Tori had a fun field day and loved the spray from the local fire department's water hose. The weather was perfect for the outdoor activities and she had a great time :)

Tug of war

Monday was also Sisters' lunch, celebrating the recent birthdays of Beckie and Denise.

Tom & Anna's kids had a fun week with the beginning of t-ball games and a day of games and crafts at school.

May a friend's backpack
always be nearby.

Parties!

It's been a great week of celebrations - graduation open houses, birthdays, and a bridal shower. I missed pictures of a few of the graduates, but did manage to get these:

Renee and her friend Ashley

Matt has been my buddy since he was in kindergarten. Because his grandparents all live out of state, I was his stand-in grandma at special events at school :)
Matt and his mom

Matt and his dad

I didn't get any pictures at Kenny's open house except for this one of Sophie and Noah finishing up the relish tray just before clean-up time :)

Bill's aunt Helen celebrated her 81st birthday and we delivered flowers from Mom B., who is Aunt Helen's only living member of that side of her family.

Beckie turned 50!!! There were several opportunities to celebrate - we had lunch together on Wednesday and Bill and I were invited to join their family for dinner on Thursday just before they returned home where Beckie was greeted by family and friends at a surprise party :)

The fam - minus Margie who was at a wedding rehearsal

That was one DELICIOUS cake!
(made with love by Beckie's friend Michelle)

Tom & Anna golfed on Saturday night so after a great deal of fun with helium-filled balloons, we snuggled in sleeping bags for a nice movie and popcorn night with Sophie, Noah, and Abby.

Beautiful bridal luncheon on Sunday!
Three Joans

I had a nice chat with Laura and Ben and Amelia via computer on Sunday night. Amelia was so silly!

Laura sent this recent picture of Amelia picking oranges at friend Tricia's house....

Bridal shower lunch - yum!
May you enjoy a wonderful variety
of celebrations
for the special folks who color your life!
